19 – Fear Eats The Soul (1974)

Standard

Puts to shame all films that do less than simultaneously deal with racism, ageism, unlikely love, the small-mindedness of society, the compromises of love and human nature. If that’s not enough, the colours are as vivid and the framing as neat as a David Hockney painting.

Like: A love with the chance of David in David and Goliath.

Core truth: “When we’re together we must be nice to each other otherwise life’s just not worth living.”
